About the Historical Museum
Without the vision, passion, and dedication of our founder, Michael Cohen, there would be few records of Longport’s history. When Atlantic County was preparing for its 1987 Sesquicentennial celebration in 1987, Mike wrote a book about Longport, prepared a slideshow, and gathered pictures and artifacts from longtime
Longport residents.
At the same time, he founded the Longport Historical Society and Museum.
The museum is currently managed by the Longport Public Library and supported by the Longport Historical Society.
